Kissing frogs, slaying dragons, and outwitting wicked witches, it’s all in a days work for a local authority chief executive, says Blair Mcpherson. 

As a chief executive you have to keep trying with seemingly unattractive potential partners in the hope that at least one will turn into the type of beneficial long lasting relationship you are seeking. 

The opposition can be fiery and fierce but you can't allow yourself to be intimidated if you are to do battle.There is no doubt that some you do business with seek to take advantage, you need to keep your wits about you and don't accept things at face value.
